KOMAKINO SS20

Komakino was founded by Federico Capalbo, who was also working on the Yang Li imprint Samizdat alongside Yang Li himself, upon a Joy Division song. The Central Saint Martins graduate originally started the label with his girlfriend, before continuing it alone. Running the label with a true outsiders-mentality, Capalbo sees his label aT THE INTERSECTION OF YOUTH AND COUNTER CULTURE, working with a youthful spirit, that is essentially about rebellion.

Drawing INSPIRATION from ALL CORNERS OF YOUTH AND COUNTER CULTURE, BE IT JAPANESE CYBERPUNK, DAVID CRONENBERG FILMS OR JUST THE CREATIVE AUDACITY OF LETTING DISTINCT UTILITARIAN AND MILITARISTIC ELEMENTS CLASH WITH SAVILE ROW LIKE TAILORING. KOMAKINO ARE ALWAYS ON THE FRONT FOOT. Their premium garments speak a distinct design language, and their SS20 outing is no different. It once again shines with the inevitable clash between a creative process and the industrie’s structural realities.

This whole thing gets inevitably reorganized into the industry’s own process (…) everything needs to be carefully planned and organized.
